Distribution:	Caution: A single range map dot for a Canadian province may represent records without specific location data. Type locality (olivacea): New York; New Hampshire. Type locality (repentina): Hoboken, NJ
Similar Species:	Lacinipolia bucketti is apparently not distinguished from L. o. petita by DNA sequencing. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)

Taxonomic Notes:	Lacinipolia olivacea (Morrison, 1875) includes Mamestra repentina Morrison, 1875, a name which was apparently overlooked in Hodges et al. (1983) but included in Poole (1989), as a synonym (Schmidt in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023).
