My mum used to eat anything within her reach. We had to remove soap, creams etc. from her room. She even used to try to eat her hands and mine too if I held her hand, it is very distressing. It happened to mum a lot during the latter stages of Alzheimers and poor love didn,t understand what she was doing wrong. I used to try to put a finger biscuit in her hand so she would suck on it, sometimes it worked but the next minute she would be trying to chew on the bed sheet.
