I just saw a piece on the BBC's 'Click' programme about a new robot dog intended for use by dementia patients.
It was flippin' fantastic! Very realistic looking with lots of cute movements and sounds. It has been developed by the people from Jim Henson's Muppets Studio!
Not sure how soon it will be available but the PWDs they showed it to absolutely loved it. It's called 'Tombot' (dreadful name!) and they are planning different breeds and a cat version. Do check it out (perhaps a more able person could put a link in...?) - I really loved it (and I don't even like dogs!) but I bet it will be expensive!
