Don't spend your night driving in circles looking for the best lights. We've done the driving in circles part for you :) Instead, start at the North or South end of town and work through these lights. Plan on a couple of hours of oohing and ahhing as you see some of Lincoln's decorations. Thanks to all the owners who put up the lights and pay for the electricity bill. Looking at lights is one of our favorite parts of the Christmas season.
If you do the entire drive in one night it will take about 2.5-3.5 hours. We split ours up and did the two big lights shows in one night and all of the Lincoln houses another night so that it was more than 1.5 hours and 2 hours.

98th & Old Cheney
You can't stop on the street when driving by so you need to take in the beauty quickly! There are dozen of lit trees and wooden signs. This picture is horrible, it doesn't do the house any justice.
88th & Old Cheney
This house is decked out in "The Nightmare Before Christmas" decorations! This house is so much fun to look at, there are lots of details and there is music playing along. This is fun to visit during the day and the night.
7300 Carson Rd. South of Pine Lake
This is hands down my favorite new addition! It is a Griswald scence-complete with Clark quotes.
6234 Franciscan (near South Sam's Club)
My children referred to this house as the gingerbread house. They adored seeing all of the Charlie Brown cut-outs throughout the yard. This show also has a Santa in one of the windows and he is putting away presents, we love this surprise!
8001 S 17th St
My kids loved this one-so many inflatables! This would be fun to visit during the day too.
6431 S. 32nd St
A great light show! This house has its own channel and plays several songs. Our favorite part was the singing Christmas tree. On the weekends, you can often find Santa Claus hanging out in the front yard.
6001 The Knolls
Look at the roof and you'll see Santa and his reindeer taking off into the night-including Rudolph!
Candy Cane Lane-30th Street between Prescott at Pioneers (picture coming soon)
Dozens of candy canes lining the road. It is lovely!
2515 Marilynn
My kids loved this house! It has so many hidden gems-from a moving snowglobe to animals to bright changing lights. Next door to this house is another wonderfully decorated home with their own station. This small block does a great job.
27th & Eastgate (picture coming soon)
Be careful, or you'll drive right past this house. Be on the lookout for Eastgate and turn onto the street to enjoy this house!
Stratford Avenue & Puritan (one block north of Sheridan & 27th)
There is a 9 foot tall Elf on the Shelf in the front yard. This entire street (two blocks long) is beautiful! Almost every house is lit up.
Woodscrest & 24th
As we were driving and looking at lights, my kids and I oohed and aahed at the same time. I was looking at the house with the beautiful white lights and they were looking at the dolphins across the street (they move and jump!)
2220 Woodsdale Blvd
This home has a stunning nativity scene (the baby Jesus isn't added until Christmas Eve).
The Sunken Gardens
27th and Capitol Parkway
If it weren't so cold, I would suggest walking around the gardens to admire their lights but it is chilly so you may have to admire them from your car. Across the street from the gardens is a beautiful wreath that is hung on the fountain.
Downtown Lincoln
You know the song "12 Days of Christmas"? Our city has put together that song in light form and the twelve days can be found in downtown Lincoln. Here is the picture of "Seven Swans-A-Swimming." See if you can find all 12!
707 Indian Hills Drive
The backyard backs up to 84th St as you drive by-it is great! This is my daugthers' favorite new house of the year. The front and the back are great.
2430 Dorothy Drive
If my kids could pick a house, this might be it. There is so much going on here that you have to stay and just look for 5 minutes to take it all in! The surrounding streets have great decorations too.
North 95th & Northern Sky Road (picture coming soon)
They have decorations in the front of their home and in the back along 98th.
112th and O St
What better way to finish your Christmas light drive than with a stop at the big light show on 112th & O Street? The owners outdo themselves each year. If you can, I'd recommend going on a weeknight. The weekends are really crowded (they deserve the crowds, though!)
Other great light shows in our area:
The Magical Lights of Malcolm
13240 W. Bluff Rd. Malcolm NE. 68402
Streets in the Country Club area that are all lit up:
Stratford Avenue-all 40 homes are lit up and on Christmas Eve this street puts out over 3000 luminaries! It is a stunning sight to see.
Woodscrest from Sheridan to 24th St-Beautiful homes that are almost all decorated. This is a fun street to park near one end and walk up and down.
Woodsdale starting at Van Dorn (across from Irving Middle School)
We will be adding more homes as the week goes on. Know of a great one? Send us the address (cross streets are fine) and a picture and we will add it!
